From apples to cheese and everything in between, family-run farms on the Adirondack Coast have produced and sold high-quality local products for generations.
Dairy farming is by far the area’s biggest agricultural enterprise (with more than 120 dairy farms and 380 million pounds of milk produced annually! – Thank a Farmer!). However, the Adirondack Coast continues to cultivate new and exciting farm experiences year around. Here, you’ll explore pumpkin patches and corn mazes, set off in horse-drawn wagons, meet furry new friends in petting zoos, pick fresh vegetables and more!

Asgaard Farm and Dairy is a family owned and operated farm that produces farmstead cheeses and other dairy, meat, poultry and vegetables for the local community. The farm is set on 1,500 acres of organic fields and second growth forests in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains, just outside of the village of Au Sable Forks. Grains are grown for flour produced in our local mill and as feed for their animals. They harvest logs for the local sawmill under American Tree Farm Certification.

The Babbie Rural & Farm Learning Museum depicts rural and farm life in the Champlain Valley and Adirondacks prior to the 1950s in an entertaining environment with live demonstrations. It is their goal to create an atmosphere that depicts how rural farm families lived and worked in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The museum also acquires, restores, displays and demonstrates how things were operated during that era. Visitors to the museum learn about New York's rural and farm life development from seeing horse drawn implements, gas engines, early tractors and other supporting tools in action.
Beartown Tree Farm is a family owned and operated farm offering quality Christmas trees, wreaths, kissing balls and ornaments with a whole lot of holiday spirit! With visits from Santa and a general store, as well as cross-county skiing and snowshoeing, this winter hot spot is not to be missed!
Country Dreams Farm is proudly owned and operated by George Weidle and Melissa Monty-Provost, two hardworking people passionate about farming and providing a quality experience for others to enjoy year round. Get up close and personal with the goats, take a tour of the farm, enjoy a winter sleigh ride or get lost in the fall corn maze. Farmhouse Pantry is an all-in-one bakery, cafe and local food store located in Saranac, NY. Farmhouse Pantry features freshly ground coffee, made-from-scratch baked goods and locally sourced farm products. Their changing menu, which is posted weekly on Facebook, includes a variety home style, farm-to-table dishes, local wine and beer, coffee and teas, and from-scratch desserts! Located on the Adirondack Coast, The William H. Miner Agricultural Research Institute is the present-day manifestation of the philosophy and principles once embodied by William Miner on Heart's Delight Farm. Since its creation in 1951, the principal function has been, and continues to be, the economic improvement of agricultural operations through research, education, and demonstration. Visit the Heart's Delight Farm Heritage Exhibit, a tribute to William Miner, a farmer, inventor and philanthropist, anchored with exhibits, antiques, photographs and gardens.

Rulfs Orchard has made its way from selling apples out of a wagon on the front lawn to growing over 15 varieties of produce, having 7 greenhouses, a large farm stand, and a bakery with freshly made doughnuts and pies. Open year round, Rulfs also offers U-pick apples, strawberries and blueberries, as well as a pumpkin patch and corn maze during the fall season and home of an annual Strawberry Festival every June.

Located in Schuyler Falls, NY, Shady Grove Farm is a sustainable family-owned and operated, 30-member CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farm. In operation since 2006, the farm is situated on 40-acres of which 19 acres is for farming and pasture and 21 acres for sustainable forestry and recreation.The Farm promotes health and wellness in the community by using environmentally friendly and sustainable gardening and farming practices. They provide a summer vegetable CSA, summer meat CSA, winter beef and pork shares and fresh, free-range eggs. Their produce is organically grown, using the most environmentally and earth friendly sustainable practices. Pasture-raised black angus beef and pasture-raised, grain fed pork is naturally raised with ethical farming practices. Irrigation for the farm is supplied by the Salmon River that borders a portion of the farm.

The mission of the Almanzo & Laura Ingalls Wilder Association is to educate visitors about rural life in Northern New York from 1840-1875 through the preservation and restoration of the Wilder Homestead, the Boyhood home of Almanzo Wilder, and inspiration for the book "Farmer Boy" by Laura Ingalls Wilder. Step back in time, take a tour and keep an eye out for special events throughout the season including but not limited to, children's events, a cultural festival and a harvest festival!
