American Legion Post #20 is a Veteran run organization to help other veterans. We are here to listen to problems, celebrate your events, and to be a community that is there for each other.
Our lodge building is located on Lake Champlain in the city of Plattsburgh. It features a full kitchen, dining room with lounge, a large banquet room with bar, a six lane bowling alley, members bar, a second floor meeting room, and offices for our secretary and banquet manager. Our facilities are available for meetings, weddings, receptions and other events, with or without catering. We also have a third floor which is in need of restoration. The third floor houses our old lodge room with sixteen foot ceilings and a six plus foot chandelier.

As you enter the lodge, you will see the Monsignor White Lounge on your left. This is a small, intimate meeting room with hardwood floors and leather furniture.
Our lodge features a six lane bowling alley with automatic pin setters and bar. Member’s leagues meet every Wednesday.
During the spring of 2006, the second floor meeting room was completely remodeled and renamed the “Jack Johnson Room” in honor of the late Jack Johnson, PER. There is a magnificent view of Lake Champlain and the site of the Battle of Plattsburgh, fought on September 11, 1814. This area serves as a dining, reception and/or meeting room. Whiteface Mountain is home to the greatest vertical drop in the east. Located on the Adirondack Coast in Northern NY, The William H. Miner Agricultural Research Institute is the present-day manifestation of the philosophy and principles once embodied by William Miner on Heart’s Delight Farm. Since its creation in 1951, the principal function is the economic improvement of agricultural operations through research, education, and demonstration. Miner Institute conducts research programs that apply basic science to contemporary problems confronting the dairy and equine industries. Our areas of focus include the crop-animal-environment interface, milk analysis as a herd management tool, cow comfort and behavior, and equine reproductive management.
