Previously named a “Top 100 Event” by the American Bus Association, the Battle of Plattsburgh Commemoration weekend is an Adirondack Coast event not to be missed. From September 12th to
the 13th, visit a network of period museums and historic sites, get a taste of history with local culinary delights, and watch reenactments commemorating this battle and war that helped shape a young American nation.

A Day at the Museums

A Night Out in Downtown Plattsburgh

Getting Wild in the Adirondacks

Haunted History Tour

All aboard the bus in Plattsburgh to begin a journey back in time with Greater Adirondack Ghost and Tour Company, masters of all things haunted on New York's Adirondack Coast.  Follow the same trail the British took when they invaded New York State, instigating the War of 1812's pivotal Battle of Plattsburgh. Visit the scenes of bloody skirmishes between the British and American forces, as well as a cemetery and various locations where veterans and casualties of the War still lie today.

Loop around the Lake

The historic waters of Lake Champlain stretch 120 miles north to south along New York and Vermont, with almost 600 miles of pristine shoreline and 435 square miles of surface area carving through the Adirondack Mountains of New York and the Green Mountains of Vermont, making it one of the largest lakes in the U.S.  With 2 states, lots of activity and plenty of lake views, why wouldn't you want to loop around the Lake?

Underground Railroad Tour

Take your group on a tour like no other, step back in time and see how slavery and the Underground Railroad operated and affected the Adirondack Coast’s History. 

This trip will take your group to the North Star Underground Railroad Museum, a world class museum revealing the hidden history of the Champlain of the Underground Railroad. Poignant exhibits portray compelling stories of fugitives from slavery who passed through Northeastern New York and the Champlain Valley on their way to Quebec and Ontario, Canada.
