The opening reception of Deviations, a solo exhibition featuring the works of artist, James Antonson.
James is a multidisciplinary artist that currently resides in Brooklyn, NY where he teaches K-5 art with a variety of mediums including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, clay, mixed media, collage and sound art. James has a background in carpentry, interior painting, and other freelance work that has aided him in his own artistic career. James mainly works within the realm of painting but also practices in collage, drawing, photography, and other experimental works where he continues to practice independently and in freelance work.
James received his B.S. in Art education from Kutztown University, Pennsylvania and his M.A. in Art Education from Brooklyn College, New York.
This exhibition will encompass a body of work made during James' experimenting with, what he calls "painting collage" with inspiration from his love of nature but also the notion of creating an entirely new composition out of an existing piece.
