6pm - 7:30pm
Experience the Alice by candlelight during one of our special holiday-themed tours. As we visit the museum's decorated period rooms, we'll follow William Miner from his childhood on the family farm, to Chicago with Alice, and back to Chazy. We'll see that while how the Miners celebrated Christmas changed from the simple celebrations of the 1870s to the lavish affairs at Heart's Delight Farm in the 1920s, the same themes of community, generosity, and hospitality run through the years.
The tour will last about 45 minutes, and will conclude with historically inspired refreshments and holiday games in the museum’s ballroom. Please note that participants will need to navigate stairways and narrow hallways in moderately low lighting. Because of space considerations, each tour is limited to twelve participants and advance registration is required. Make sure you have selected the correct date before requesting tickets!
All of our holiday programs will be free of charge to attendees. However, in the giving spirit of Alice and William Miner, we will be collecting donations for the United Way of the Adirondack Region throughout the holiday season. We encourage everyone who attends an event to bring a new, unwrapped toy for their gift-giving program or make a monetary donation to the United Way, whether directly or through us at the Alice.
