CCHA has made arrangements with Captain Mick Maynard to take THREE trips to Valcour Island.
The trips in July and August are our regular trips to see the Bluff Point Lighthouse.
The third trip, one of our America250 Events, is on the eve of the anniversary of Benedict Arnold's Battle of Valcour which took place off the southwest corner of the island. You can walk down the west shore until you come to the battle site.
Imagine yourselves waiting for the British to come down the lake. Imagine Arnold's fleet with pine trees attached to the tops of the masts as camouflage. Imagine the men walking on the shores of the island and the mainland.
