10am - 5pm
ADKX admission will be free for all on the day of the event. This new event will be a celebration of outdoor recreation and introduction to the broad opportunities for outdoor enjoyment for those who are unfamiliar or not yet comfortable exploring the region’s woods and waterways on their own. The day will feature hands-on programs and demonstrations, all in the spirit of providing museum visitors a foundation from which they can safely pursue recreation on their own. Programs include Intro to Lacrosse with a demonstration, Adapting Activities: Making it Fun for Everyone, Intro to Birding, Atlatl throwing demonstration, Plant Identification, How to Pack a Go-Bag, Apps to Help Us Enjoy Nature, accessible campfire cooking, and much more!
Throughout the day, visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about the many Adirondack and North Country/Capital region organizations at the event expo, including those that serve BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and adaptive sport communities.
