Sorting fact from fiction is not easy. The story of the remarkable ruins just north of the bridge at Rouses Point is strange and rather sad. There are many misconceptions about the fort there that continue to this day. Local historian James P. Millard will discuss the fascinating history of Fort Montgomery and the myths surrounding the infamous Fort “Blunder” and the history of the fort.  Millard is the publisher of the award-winning America’s Historic Lakes website and author of Fort Montgomery Through the Years, Lake Passages – A Journey through the Centuries, The Secrets of Crab Island, and Bastions on the Border.  His books are available for purchase at the Clinton County Historical Association Museum and will be available Thursday night.  FREE and open to the public.
