Training for Front Line Hospitality Staff Hosted by Adirondack Coast Visitors Bureau
Area attractions showcase offerings to front line associates
Plattsburgh, NY – 6/1/2011 – The Adirondack Coast Visitors Bureau, a division of the North Country Chamber of Commerce, held a training session for front line associates on Wednesday, June 1st at Airborne Speedway in Plattsburgh. The invite-only event attracted more than fifty front desk staff from local hotels, campgrounds, golf courses and marinas.
Front desk associates met with representatives from thirty regional attractions to discuss the variety of recreational opportunities available to people visiting the area. Michele Powers, Director of the Adirondack Coast Visitors Bureau said, “Front line associates are often the first point of contact for visitors. For that reason, it is important they are armed with up-to-date information on things to do in the area. This type of training provides first-hand knowledge to front desk staff and translates in to a better visitor experience which benefits everyone.”
Attractions in attendance included:
Vicki Demarse-Giroux, General Manager for La Quinta Inn & Suites said of the event, “This is an outstanding opportunity for our front line ambassadors to learn more about the wonderful area we live in. They are excited with the knowledge they have gathered to assist our guests in making their trip to the Adirondack Coast the best.”
Mike Perrotte, promoter for Airborne Speedway stated, “We were glad to host the front desk training here at Airborne Speedway. It was the first time some of the front desk staff had the opportunity to visit and see what we’re all about. We were also able to let everyone test drive our go-karts, the latest addition to the track. I know everyone had a good time and will no doubt recommend Airborne to people visiting the area this summer. Testing the product leads to more recommendations and a better experience for the visitor – it’s that simple.”
