Pro Event Wraps Up Plattsburgh's Bass Season
FLW Stren Series will take to Lake Champlain this week

Plattsburgh, NY – 08/26/09 – The last of seven pro bass fishing tournaments hosted by the City of Plattsburgh and the Adirondack Coast Visitors & Convention Bureau will begin Thursday August 27th.   It’s a great way to end an exciting bass fishing season with more than 400 anglers participating in the FLW Stren Series from Thursday August 27 to Saturday August 29 on Lake Champlain.

The anglers will be fishing for a top prize of $25,000 and a Ranger Bass Boat.  Co-anglers will be battling to win a Ranger Bass Boat and trailer.  There will also be a Folger’s big bass prize of $500 for the angler and co-angler catching the largest single weighing bass over the first two days.

All 400 anglers and co-anglers will fish for the first two days of competition; and the top 10 anglers, after two days of competition, will advance to fish on the final day.

“It has been an exciting and successful bass fishing season.  I look forward to seeing the FLW Stren series conclude the summer schedule and we look forward to their return next year,” states Kristy Kennedy, Group Marketing Specialist for the Adirondack Coast Visitors & Convention Bureau.

Anglers will take off from Plattsburgh Boat Basin in Plattsburgh, N.Y., at 6:30 a.m. each morning. Weigh-ins will be held at Dock Street Landing beginning at 3 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and 4 p.m. on Saturday. Takeoffs and weigh-ins are free and open to the public.

New this year, the Adirondack Coast Visitors & Convention Bureau distributed fundraising tickets to 25 local non-profit organizations.  Ticket holders are encouraged to attend the weigh-in, Saturday, August 29, to redeem it at the Adirondack Coast Visitors Bureau table.  The Visitors Bureau will then give a dollar back to the organization that handed out that ticket.  This is a great way to give back to the community while encouraging more local residents to partake in the excitement of an FLW weigh-in at Dock Street Landing.
