Anglers Take to Lake Champlain in the ABA Weekend Series Tournament This Weekend
 
Plattsburgh, NY– 07/30/09 –   The Adirondack Coast Visitors & Convention Bureau announced today that the ABA Bassmaster Weekend Series will be held Saturday, August 1 on Lake Champlain.
 
The ABA Weekend Series tournament is a one day event where 200 anglers compete for a $6,000 prize and an additional $1,000 awarded to the angler who reels in the heaviest bass of the day.  Bass fishermen will compete for cash prizes but also for points, hoping to finish the season in the top 40. 
 
After the qualifying rounds, the top 40 boaters and co-anglers will be invited to the post season tournaments where one lucky angler can win a chance to compete in the Bassmaster Classic.   “We are excited to welcome the ABA Weekend Series back to Lake Champlain.  I am confident this tournament will be a success.” states Group Marketing Specialist, Kristy Kenned, of the Adirondack Coast Visitors & Convention Bureau.

The weigh-in is on Saturday, August 1 at Dock Street Landing in Plattsburgh, NY beginning at 2pm.  Spectators are encouraged to come to this FREE event and see how pro anglers fare on the waters of Lake Champlain.
