ABA Weekend Series starts Saturday
Plattsburgh, NY– 06/08/2011 – The Adirondack Coast Visitors Bureau, along with the City of Plattsburgh, announced today the start of the summer bass tournament season as the ABA Bassmaster Weekend Series, sponsored by Toyota, heads to Lake Champlain on Saturday, June 11.
More than 150 anglers will compete in the one-day tournament for a $6,000 prize. An additional $1,000 will be awarded to the angler who reels in the heaviest bass of the day.
Joe Angelone, Tour Organizer for the ABA Weekend Fishing Series, stated, “As in the past we are always excited about coming to Lake Champlain and Plattsburgh. It is such a beautiful location and such a welcoming community. It is a pleasure to hold the Bassmasters Weekend Series Opener on the great Lake Champlain. There will be quite a challenge this year with the water levels being as high as they are, however, we'll take every precaution that the anglers are safe. We will also do our best to protect the water front property owners, as well. This looks to be a great event and we sure hope to see everyone there.”
Registration for this event will take place on June 10 at the Naked Turtle from 3pm-6pm. The weigh-in will be held at Dock Street Landing in Plattsburgh, NY on Saturday, June 11 at 2pm.
FLW Bass Fishing League (BFL) Tournament
On June 18, Lake Champlain will host FLW’s Walmart BFL Tournament and their popular weekend fishing tournament, Bass Fishing League Tournament. Known for being the tournament of weekend warriors these one day events offer anglers a chance to compete for cash and prizes close to home. The BFL circuit is comprised of 24 divisions with each division
having five events and a regional championship where the top anglers advance to the BFL All-American, the longest running championship in all of competitive bass fishing history.
Registration for this event will take place on June 17 at Walmart in Plattsburgh from 4pm-6pm and weigh-in is at Dock Street Landing in Plattsburgh, NY on Saturday, June 18 at 2pm.
